Chief Cytogenetic Technologist
Kristin has worked in the Cytogenetics Laboratory at the University of Chicago Medicine since 1999. She started as a cytogenetic technologist, was certified in 2000, and moved into more of a leadership role as chief technologist in 2007. She oversees the daily laboratory workflow and quality assurance of laboratory results while assisting with problem solving and training of new technologists and students. She is also trained in tissue culture, microscopy, and laboratory techniques. She enjoys the fast paced environment of working in a clinical laboratory and providing physicians and patients with information used to direct medical decisions. She lives in Aurora with her husband Sam and dog Simba. She has an undergraduate degree in Genetic Bioengineering from Purdue University.
